What to Expect During Dental Implant Treatment 

The dental implant process includes careful planning, implant placement, healing, and placement of the final restoration.

• Assessment: First, the dentist completes a dental implant consultation. X-rays or a 3D cone-beam CT scan may be used to examine your bone and plan the implant position. 
  In addition, the dentist may take a scan or impression of your teeth to guide treatment. 
• Inserting the Implant: Next, the dentist numbs the treatment area with local anaesthetic. The dentist then creates a small opening in the gum and jawbone before placing the implant post. 
  In some cases, stitches may be required after implant placement. 
• Healing Period: Afterward, the implant needs time to heal and integrate with the jawbone. This process may take several months, depending on your oral health and treatment plan. 
• Finalising the Restoration: Finally, you return to the clinic for the final restoration. The dentist attaches the crown, bridge, or denture to the implant and checks its fit.
